MEET BRENT JACKSON

I am a farmer born in Clinton, Sampson County and live in Autryville with Debbie, my wife of 39 years. In 2010, I was elected to the North Carolina State Senate representing Senate District 10, which includes Sampson and Duplin Counties, and part of Johnston County. I am an active member with my church, Union Grove Baptist Church, and am a father of three sons and grandfather of three grandchildren.

I am a co-chairman of the Senate Appropriations/Base Budget Committee, and formerly served as co-chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural and Economic Resources and the Senate Agriculture/Environment/Natural Resources Committee.  I also am a co-chairman of the Joint Legislative Oversight Commission on Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources, Joint Agriculture and Forestry Awareness Study Commission and the Agriculture and Rural Caucus of the North Carolina General Assembly.  Additionally, I sit on the Senate Finance Committee, Senate Judiciary Committee, Senate Nominations Committee, and Rules and Operations of the Senate Committee. In 2014, I was elected to the Legislative Board of the international organization, State Agriculture and Rural Leaders and am currently in my second term.

Above is a picture of me with my wife, our son and his wife, and our three grandchildren.
